ELDERS MINISTRY

The elder ministry of The Word Enlightment House Of Jesus Christ is a team of godly men who serve as overseers and shepherds of the church. They are appointed by the senior pastor, Dr. George Baah The elders have four main goals:

-
To shepherd the flock of God that is under their care, serving as overseers and examples to the congregation. (1 Peter 5:1-4)
-
To teach sound doctrine and refute those who contradict it, ensuring that the church is faithful to the truth of God’s word. (Titus 1:5-9)
-
To manage their own households well, demonstrating godly leadership and integrity in their families. (1 Timothy 3:1-7)
-
To pray for the church and its members, interceding for their needs and spiritual growth. (Acts 6:4; James 5:14)
The elders are committed to fulfilling their calling with humility, love, and diligence. They are also available to provide pastoral care, counsel, and support to the church members. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact them through the church website or phone number. We thank God for our elders and we pray that he will bless them and their ministry.
ELDERS MINISTRY GOAL
SHEPHERDING THE FLOCK
Elders are to shepherd the flock of God that is under their care, serving as overseers and examples to the congregation. (1 Peter 5:1-4) This means that elders are to care for the spiritual well-being of the church members, to guide them in following God’s will, and to model godly character and conduct for them. Elders are also to protect the flock from false teachers and harmful influences that may threaten their faith and unity.
TEACHING SOUND DOCTRINE
Elders are to teach sound doctrine and refute those who contradict it, ensuring that the church is faithful to the truth of God’s word. (Titus 1:5-9) This means that elders are to instruct the church in what the Scriptures teach, to equip them for every good work, and to defend the gospel from error and distortion. Elders are also to train and appoint other faithful teachers who can carry on this ministry.
MANAGING THEIR HOUSEHOLDS
Elders are to manage their own households well, demonstrating godly leadership and integrity in their families. (1 Timothy 3:1-7) This means that elders are to love their wives as Christ loved the church, to raise their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, and to maintain order and harmony in their homes. Elders are also to set an example for other families in the church on how to honor God in their relationships.
PRAYING FOR THE CHURCH
Elders are to pray for the church and its members, interceding for their needs and spiritual growth. (Acts 6:4; James 5:14) This means that elders are to devote themselves to prayer and to the preaching ministry, to seek God’s guidance and blessing for the church, and to pray for healing, restoration, and revival among the people of God. Elders are also to encourage and support other members in their prayer lives.
